DIY Mosin Nagant Sporter Project

My goal was to make a lightweight scout type rifle, without breaking the bank. Mosin Nagants (MN) are readily available and inexpensive. They are rugged and fire a 7.62x54R cartridge that is readily available in the surplus market. There are many paths one can take when sporterizing an old firearm. This is just one of those paths. NOTE: I make no claim that this is a complete DIY guide, I am just sharing what I have done for the enjoyment and benefit of others.
