Springfield Armory Lightweight Ultra Compact - 9mm

Springfield Armory LW Ultra Compact with the following modifications:

- Ranger Cocobolo thin stocks
- Polished flats on the stainless slide
- Black
Teflon/Moly finish on the frame
- Ed Brown smooth mainspring housing
- Ed Brown Tactical thumb safety
- Ed Brown steel firing pin
- Videki long trigger
- Trigger job with the pull set at 4 lbs

Springfield 1911s, especially  those in 9mm are prone to light strikes. I've found the cause to be their titanium firing pins. Replacing them with and Ed Brown steel firing pin put an end to all of my light strike problems. NOTE: Springfield  uses "special" size firing pins. Brownell's part #  087-205-826

A look at the other side, I'm very happy with the Teflon/Moly finish.
I bought a pair, only 17 serial numbers apart, but as you can see
I trimmed them out a little differently.

9mm Springfield 1911s are prone to light strikes. I've found the cause to be their titanium firing pins (top 2 grams). Replacing them with and Ed Brown steel firing pin (bottom 4 grams) put an end to all of my light strike problems. NOTE: Springfield  uses "special" size firing pins. Brownell's part #  087-205-826
